What are the side effects of Microgynon?
Like all medications, Microgynon can cause side effects, but not everyone will experience them.
Common side effects which may affect up to 1 in 10 women include:
- Nausea
- Headaches
- Breast tenderness
Uncommon side effects which may affect up to 1 in 100 women include:
- Mood changes
- Fluid retention
- Enlarged breasts
- Migraines (consult with a doctor if it is your first migraine or is very severe)
- Diarrhoea
Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of these very rare symptoms, as they may indicate a more serious side effect:
- High blood pressure
- Blood clots
