What are Lemsip sachets?
Lemsip Cold & Flu sachets provide relief from cold and flu symptoms, such as headaches, fevers, blocked nose, body aches and sore throats. Each sachet contains two active ingredients - paracetamol and phenylephrine hydrochloride.
What is the difference between Lemsip and Lemsip Max sachets?
Lemsip Max contains the same active ingredients as regular Lemsip but at a higher strength. Lemsip contains 650mg of paracetamol and 10mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride whereas Lemsip Max contains 1000mg of paracetamol and 12.2mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride.
How does Lemsip work?
Paracetamol is an analgesic, meaning it provides relief from symptoms such as headaches, sore throats and body aches and pains. It is also an antipyretic so it helps to reduce fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which helps to relieve a blocked nose by reducing swelling.
Who is Lemsip suitable for?
Lemsip sachets are suitable for adults and children 12 years and over.
Who is Lemsip not suitable for?
Lemsip should not be taken if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. You should also not take Lemsip if you have a serious heart condition, high blood pressure or have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI antidepressants) within the last 14 days. Talk to your pharmacist or GP before taking Lemsip if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not take Lemsip with large quantities of alcohol. It is also important to note that this product contains paracetamol. Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products and do not exceed the stated dose. Immediate medical advice should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well.
How do I take Lemsip?
Pour one sachet of powder into a mug and fill with hot, but not boiling, water. Stir until dissolved. If preferred, sweeten to taste with sugar, honey or your usual sweetener. Take 1 sachet every 4-6 hours, do not exceed 4 sachets in 24 hours. Do not take any other paracetamol-containing products.
