What is Spedra and what is it used for?
Spedra is a treatment for adult men suffering from erectile dysfunction, that is, the inability to achieve and maintain an erection. Its active ingredient is avanafil at doses of 50mg, 100mg and 200mg. It belongs to the family of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors including Viagra that increase the blood flow to the penis.
How does it work?
Like its well-known alternative Viagra, Spedra works to relax the muscles in the penis to allow more blood to flow into the blood vessels. This results in a firm, erect penis suitable for sexual intercourse.
How do I take Spedra?
The recommended dose is 100mg initially, taken with water about 30 minutes (50mg) or 15-30 minutes (100mg and 200mg) before intended sexual activity. The strength can be adjusted according to your response but you should not take more than a single dose per day. Spedra can be taken with or without food but food can slow its effect, increasing the time it takes to work.
How long does Spedra take to work?
Spedra begins to work in approximately 15-30 minutes for the strengths of 100mg and 200mg and about 30 minutes for 50mg. It needs sexual stimulation to be effective.
How long does Spedra last?
Avanafil can last up to 6 hours in your body.
Since they all form part of the same family of ED, they all have the same method of operation. The difference is in the time that each active ingredient takes to work.
Can I buy Spedra over the counter?
No, you can only buy Spedra from some UK pharmacies after a consultation with the pharmacist. However, not all pharmacists and pharmacies offer this service.
