OneVit B Complex Product Information

OneVit B Complex is a nutritional supplement containing eight different B vitamins along with Inositol, a naturally occurring sugar that aids cellular signalling (the process by which cells communicate with each other to perform various functions).

B vitamins are important for numerous physical and cognitive functions, including the metabolism of macronutrients for energy, the conversion of amino acids into neurotransmitters for cognitive function, and the production of red blood cells.

OneVit B Complex contains eight B vitamins and Inositol to improve energy levels, as well as brain, heart, nerve and cell health:

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine hydrochloride) supports the conversion of carbohydrates into energy for the body and brain. Vitamin B1 also facilitates the synthesis of neurotransmitters, such as acetylcholine, which help improve communication between nerve cells and support the formation of brain synapses. These mechanisms can result in a stronger memory and enhanced focus, aiding learning and information retention.
  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) is necessary for the production of coenzymes such as flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) that affect energy metabolism. Moreover, vitamin B2 helps convert macronutrients from food into energy to aid cellular respiration. Vitamin B2 also supports the regeneration of antioxidants such as glutathione, which help protect neurons from damage, promote healthy brain function and contribute to cognitive performance.
  • Vitamin B3 (Nicotinamide) contributes to the dilation of blood vessels, increasing blood flow to the brain and subsequently promoting better cognitive performance. Vitamin B3 also helps with the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood.
  • Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid) is essential for the synthesis of an organic molecule known as ‘coenzyme A’ which assists enzymes in catalysing biochemical reactions, including the metabolism of fatty acids for energy production. Additionally, vitamin B5 aids in the conversion of carbohydrates and proteins into energy for the body to utilise during sustained physical activity.
  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine hydrochloride) helps convert amino acids into neurotransmitters that regulate mood and the brain’s reward mechanism, such as serotonin and dopamine. Vitamin B6 also supports the creation of haemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen throughout the body and helps regulate the body's levels of homocysteine to prevent damage to the inner lining of blood vessels, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and the build-up of plaque in the arteries.
  • Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) supports the synthesis of myelin, which protects nerve fibres and contributes to the proper maintenance of nerve cells. Vitamin B12 also contributes to red blood cell maturation in bone marrow and supports the formation of haemoglobin, a protein that carries oxygen in the blood.
  • Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, helps convert protein, carbohydrates and fats from food into energy to power cells. Biotin also aids in the synthesis of keratin, a type of protein that contributes to the strength and structure of hair, skin and nails.
  • Folic acid, also known as vitamin B9, aids the production of nucleotides, which are crucial for the creation and maintenance of DNA strands. Folic acid also plays a key role in red blood cell production to keep the organs oxygenated and support the body’s overall oxygen utilisation.
  • Inositol supports the transmission of signals between neurons by influencing the activity of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, to help regulate mood and contribute to emotional well-being.

  • Energy levels - OneVit B Complex contributes to the conversion of proteins, carbohydrates and fats from food into energy for cells. This mechanism helps keep the body energised, reducing fatigue.
  • Cognitive function - OneVit B Complex contains several B vitamins that facilitate the synthesis of neurotransmitters involved in regulating mood, memory and focus, including vitamins B6 and B12.
  • Heart health - OneVit B Complex contains vitamins B6, B9 and B12, which help prevent the excessive build-up of homocysteine in the body, protecting the heart from cardiovascular disease.
  • Red blood cell production - OneVit B Complex aids the production of haemoglobin and red blood cells to improve oxygen transportation and utilisation, ensuring organs and tissues function optimally.

The recommended intake of OneVit B Complex is one tablet per day. It is not necessary to take more than one tablet per day, as each tablet contains the optimal amount of each ingredient for most individuals. If you wish to take more than one tablet of OneVit B Complex per day, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

The time it takes to experience the desired effects of OneVit B Complex can vary from person to person, depending on:

  • Metabolism - The rate at which the B vitamins and Inositol in OneVit B Complex are processed and utilised by the body depends on your metabolism. Individuals with a higher metabolic rate may experience the benefits of B vitamins sooner, as these nutrients are broken down and converted into energy at a faster rate.
  • Diet - The absorption and utilisation of B vitamins from OneVit B Complex can be affected by an individual’s intake of protein and fibre. For instance, Vitamin B12 requires protein for proper absorption, so a diet low in protein may slow down its absorption.
  • Existing health conditions - Certain health conditions, such as metabolic disorders or gastrointestinal issues, may affect the absorption and utilisation of B vitamins, delaying the desired results from taking OneVit B Complex.
  • Medication usage - Some medications, such as those that affect serotonin levels, may inhibit the effects of certain B vitamins that also act on serotonin in the body, such as Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine). Individuals taking medications are advised to consult a doctor before taking OneVit B Complex.

You can take one tablet of OneVit B Complex per day as a pre-natal supplement until the 12th week of pregnancy, or as directed by your doctor.

The long-term use of OneVit B Complex may cause mild tingling or numbness in some individuals. If you experience these effects, consult a pharmacist or doctor about your usage of OneVit B Complex.

OneVit B Complex contains methylcobalamin, which is a naturally occurring form of vitamin B12. In contrast, cyanocobalamin is a synthetic vitamin B12 compound that is typically made in lab settings.

Methylcobalamin is superior to cyanocobalamin in four key ways:

  • Absorption - Methylcobalamin can be absorbed and utilised by the body immediately, while cyanocobalamin must be converted into methylcobalamin or adenosylcobalamin in the body before it can be used.
  • Benefits to nerve health - Methylcobalamin supports nerve regeneration and can have a better effect on maintaining the integrity of the nervous system compared to cyanocobalamin.
  • Reduced Toxicity - Cyanocobalamin contains a cyanide molecule, which the body must eliminate before it can be utilised. In contrast, Methylcobalamin does not have any toxic molecules and is hence considered to be safer.
  • Potential to help with sleep issues - Some evidence suggests that methylcobalamin might be more effective than cyanocobalamin at regulating certain circadian rhythms and could potentially help improve sleep patterns due to its influence on melatonin secretion.

Some medications, such as those affecting serotonin levels or stomach acid production, may interfere with the absorption and utilisation of certain B vitamins, such as Vitamin B6 or B12. This can affect how long it takes for an individual to experience the desired results from taking OneVit B Complex.

Therefore, it is advisable to consult a doctor before taking this supplement alongside medications.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is recommended to consult a GP or doctor before taking OneVit Vitamin B Complex.

  • OneVit Vitamin C - Vitamin C can enhance the antioxidant protection and immune system support provided by the Vitamin B6 and Folic Acid in OneVit B Complex.
  • OneVit Iron - Iron can complement the Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid in OneVit B Complex, aiding red blood cell formation and haemoglobin production. This combination can also optimise oxygen transportation in the body, contributing to daily energy levels.
  • OneVit Magnesium - OneVit Magnesium aids nerve relaxation and can calm nervous system activity, complementing the potential for OneVit B Complex to improve mood and cognitive function.
  • OneVit Probiotics Complex - Probiotics can enhance the absorption of the B vitamins in OneVit B Complex, maximising their positive effects.
