The Suresign Ovulation Test is a rapid lateral flow test that detects LH surges in urine, signalling that ovulation is likely to occur in the next 24-36 hours with 99% accuracy.

Pack Size: 5 Tests

What is the Suresign Ovulation Test and how does it work?

The Suresign Ovulation test is a one-stop lateral flow test that utilises a combination of antibodies to selectively detect elevated levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) that commonly happens before ovulation. As a result, the test can indicate whether ovulation is likely to occur in the next 24 to 36 hours.

The test is conducted by exposing the absorbent tip to urine, which accurately shows whether LH levels are elevated in the show window, providing results in minutes.

When should I start using the Suresign Ovulation Test?

The kit includes 5 individually wrapped tests that allow testing for the most fertile time over the course of several days. The insert found in the packaging includes a chart that shows the best time to start testing, depending on the usual duration of a menstrual cycle.

How do I use the Suresign Ovulation Test?

To ensure accurate results while taking the ovulation test, follow these steps:

  • Allow the Suresign Ovulation Test to reach room temperature (usually between 15-30°C) before opening the foil pouch.
  • Remove the test from the pouch and make sure to use the test within one hour of opening.
  • Remove the cap from the test to expose the absorbent tip.
  • To use the test, either urinate on the absorbent tip until it is thoroughly wet (approximately 15 seconds) or dip the absorbent tip into the urine sample. Do not allow urine to come into contact with the result window.
  • Lay the test on a flat surface with the window on top and wait for the red lines(s) to appear in the results window.
  • Read the results after 3 minutes. Do not read the results after 10 minutes.

How do I interpret the test results?

The test results can be found in the results window where the following lines will appear, indicating the results of the test:

  • Positive result includes two lines that are visible and the Test Line (marked as T) is either as dark or darker than the Control Line (marked as C). This indicates the fact that the urine sample has been taken within 24-36 hours of the LH surge.
  • Negative results may include both lines, but the Test Line (marked as t) is lighter than the Control Line (marked as C). Alternatively, the Test Line might not be visible. This indicates that the LH surge has not been detected and you should continue daily testing.
  • The test results are invalid if the Control Line (marked as C) fails to appear. Insufficient volume of urine or incorrect procedure are the most likely reasons for an invalid result. Review the procedure and repeat the test with a new test kit.

What are the considerations when using the Suresign Ovulation Test?

  • The reagents used in the test can cross-react with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The test is only intended for the detection of LH in hCG-free samples.
  • The test will not work properly if you are pregnant, menopausal or taking birth control pills.
  • Women suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome may have elevated LH concentrations.
  • Test results should not be affected by common pain relief medication.
  • Antibodies containing hCH or LH may affect the test results.
  • Do not make any medical decisions based on the results of the tests without consulting with your doctor.
  • The test is not reusable.
